Legend Island is the place you keep staring at on the Forza Horizon 6 map, wondering why the game won't let you drive there yet. It sits off the southeast coast, cut away from the main Japan map, and it's not meant for a quick early visit. You'll need proper festival progress, plenty of race wins, and a strong garage before the route opens. It's also a great long-term target if you're building up cars and Forza Horizon 6 Credits while working through the main festival events.

Why Legend Island stays locked

The game doesn't open Legend Island through normal exploration. You can't just find a hidden bridge, launch over the water, or finish a few story missions and expect it to appear. The island is tied to Horizon Festival progression, not the Discover Japan path. That catches a lot of players out. You might spend hours clearing scenic routes, photo challenges, or story chapters, then realise none of it has moved you closer to the island. What matters is your Wristband rank. There are seven Wristbands to earn, and Legend Island is connected to the last one, the Gold Wristband. Until you reach that level, the island stays out of reach.

What you need before the island opens

The main requirement is earning 32,500 Horizon Festival Points. That's a fair grind, so don't treat it like a side task you'll finish in one evening. You'll get points from races, PR stunts, showcases, and other festival activities, but some choices are much quicker than others. Speed Traps, Speed Zones, and Drift Zones are usually smart picks because they don't take long and can be repeated cleanly. Races are still useful, especially if you're winning, but long events can slow the pace if the reward isn't worth the time. The Gold Wristband unlocks once you've pushed far enough through that festival track, and only then does the next major hurdle become available.

The Colossus is the real test

After the Gold Wristband, you still have to beat The Colossus. This isn't a casual sprint across a few bends. It's a huge endurance race built around the freeway system, and it punishes sloppy driving. A car with crazy top speed can look good on paper, then feel awful when the road tightens. On the other hand, a grippy car with poor high-speed pull may leave you stuck watching rivals disappear ahead. A balanced hypercar or a tuned AWD build is usually safer. Think strong brakes, stable handling, clean gearing, and tyres that don't give up when you're pushing hard for a long stretch.

What makes the island worth the effort

Once Legend Island is open, it feels less like another map corner and more like a late-game festival zone. There's a new outpost, harder races, fresh stunt routes, bonus boards, and events built for players who already know how their cars behave at speed. The payouts are strong too, which matters when you're chasing rare cars or tuning several builds at once. Some players will grind the island for cash, while others may choose to buy Forza Horizon 6 Credits to speed up garage upgrades before taking on the tougher events. Either way, Legend Island works best as a reward for drivers who've put in the miles, made mistakes, fixed their cars, and kept racing.
